Paxton Supercharged Magnum Wins at Maple Grove

Chris Dufresne won the Vortech Heads-Up Hemi class at the 2009 NMCA Nationals at Maple Grove in his 2006 Dodge Magnum supercharged by a NOVI-1500. His best official times of the weekend were a 10.22 in the 2nd round and 10.98 in the first round. He also ran a 9.85 (time slip) but it was not allowed due to a technicality. His win in the finals was automatic as his opponent, Eddie Rosa rolled through the beams on the start, forfeiting the race.

His prize is $1,500, a jacket, and a Vortech Supercharger System.

Here is what Chris had to say:

"...this was a repeat performance as I won last year's Modern Hemi Shootout event at ATCO Raceway, NJ last summer with my previous car, a 5.7 300C. The 5.7 car holds the current 5.7 NA record and still remains the only 5.7 LX to tag the 11's naturally aspirated (11.82 @ 115). Unless there are some hardcore grocery getters hiding under a rock somewhere the Magnum I currently have is the only LX chassis to tag the 9's. The 9.85 @ 139 (time slip) during 1st round qualifications was a new best for me... too bad they wouldn't let it stand as my car is only tech'd for 10.00."
